  • Craftsman 7" buffer/polisher

This is what I have in reference to my Upcoming Project - HELP! post from yesterday. Was told I would be better off purchasing a DA polisher to apply and work the Ultimate Compound. I'm torn between the Meguiars one or the Porter Cable 7424xp.

Awesome website - thank you to all that have replied and helped me.

Either one. From what I've gleaned, the Meg machine is in short supply, ie major back order. So the PC may be your choice by that fact.

Keep us posted on how it all works out.

As Bill said both machines are very reliable.

Meguiar's G110v2 has an extra feature, called cruise control, which increases torque while down pressure is applied to maintain the constant set speed. I think it should be back in stock very shortly.

Porter Cable makes DA polishers, and other power tools, for many years.

Dual action polishers are way to go for defect removal and the learning time with those type of machines is extremely short.
