NO, wait! what i meant was I maintain the wax coat with UQD or UQW if needed, I'm actually hesitant to apply UQD before putting a coat of 845. It could affect the bonding of the wax.. I think..

UQD however, will help in removing light dust and give a clean surface that can be ready for wax. I'm not too confident about this question..

    Any inputs?

Yes, maintain the finish with UQD and UQW.

I do have this paranoid thinking that UQD and UQW may "change" the characteristics (shine, depth, water beading) of the collinite.. BUt then, i don't think any of the ingredients will drastically affect the collinite coat, so i just used it anyway. Its still better than letting the dust accumulate on the paint. I now have 2 bottles of UQW, i used the 1st one on the cars we have, along with UQD. I love those 2 products.

OK Bro. In my opinion when there is dust on your car (just dust and not too much dirt on the car) I prefer to just clean in with MF towel before waxing. But if I don't intend to wax the car, I apply UQD to remove dust.
But that's just in my opinion bro, because I think it won't be necessary to apply UQD before waxing. What do you think??

I would not use a quick detailer before wax. Wipe down with isoprophyl alocohol if anything. I like to use a DA with lake country gold pad a few pea size drops and speed 3. Let haze and buff off. I think 845 looks great on all colors and gives goood durability.

I would probably suggest applying it using your PC.
It's easier to apply and you get a thin even coat.
Shake it up and use a polishing pad to apply.
Any of the polishing pads will do black/blue/red etc.
Pour a small amount on to the pad & use speed 3.
Apply it to the panel then move on to the next panel.
On my bottles it really does not say when to remove.
I usually remove it after it's applied to the entire vehicle.
Using a PC I can apply it on the vehicle in 15 minutes.
I do a finger swipe test but don't get overly concerned.
If you let it dry hard it can be like concrete to remove.
(In that case I have used a MF bonnet over a wool pad)
Wait at least one hour then apply a second coat.

In a way, yes i agree but i use a good quality duster. Light sweeping motion, but if you're careful and have good microfibers, you can get away using it as a duster of some sort. I enjoy using UQD on a regular basis, and yes, when i don't plan to wax a car. I just ensure that the paint surface is dust/speck free before waxing, so i wash the car and clean the surface.

When applying a different wax (like 845, etc.) people recommend removing the old wax, absolutely correct. Some use dawn, clay bar, or paint cleaners..

There is a debate on using dawn, or whatever solvent.. I haven't tried it so i won't call anyone who uses that out of their mind because someday i know i'll find myself using it (hehe). Just don't overdo it! What i'd do is use a good car shampoo/carsoap mixed with a dishwashing liquid (50/50).. Just to be sure.. I am paranoid, so i'd go that direction.

THIS QUESTION is OFF the TOPIC.
Does anyone know what LC pad will be used if I want to apply M80 to remove swirls? Is it Orange or Green Pad? Thanks bro.

the key to collinite 845 is to shake it. you can get it to a pure liquid. It helps to warm it a bit by using body heat, the sun or soak the bottle in warm water. It can be applied as a paste and that works well too. I use a cap from my ulimate compound on my collinite 845 bottle. its easier to apply that way, or you can use a dispenser bottle. I've heard people shake and use a spray bottle to apply it as a spray wax.

I apply to a wax pad on my groits DA. I spread at speed 3.5 and do two over lapping passing with a fairly quick arm speed. I want the product to be spread thin and evenly. Honestly I think probably apply to much. I tend to apply collinite 7-10 times to my pad by using 3 pea size dot for a whole car. by the time I work around the whole car its ready to be buffed off.

I like collnite on darker coloured cars and sealant on lighter colours(white/silver). I prefer 3m performance as my sealant. sometimes i will layer collnite 845 over sealant. I don't see to much of a difference. These are my two "go-to" first choice lsp.

It seemed you've been using colilinite 845 for a long time. Your method will be useful to me. And thank you for sharing...

JefriLay, I don't know if you've applied 845 already or if your car is dark colored, but be weary of smearing with 845.. it does happen, so i would suggest (assuming you've done everey possiple step to prep your car nicely) is to work in sections, apply it as thin as humanly possible. Its still a carnauba based product, so it won't be as easy to remove as the nxt or M21, even if initially it may seem so. If you're using it and buffed it off, check your work in the sun. It may be likely that you'll see a couple of smears.. If you don;t see any smears, it means you did a good job.
