I am looking for a good safe product to use on drag cars, mostly for the rubber that builds on panels behind the rear tires, wheelie bars, etc. Maybe APC? I have been around drag racing my whole life and never damaged a car cleaning it but always looked for an easy way to remove the tough stuff easily. I use a spray wax in between rounds to keep the cars clean but rubber does build quickly. Also, any tips or precautions for fiberglass/carbon fiber bodies? Thanks!

Re: Any experience on Drag Racing cars?
Might not be that easy and repeated applications will more than likely be required.
Also when removing the rubber make sure you really soak the area in Body Solvent as the previous applications will dry up.Nick

Re: Any experience on Drag Racing cars?
I have used a body solvent before, not Megs. Not sure of the brand, think it was just a generic solvent. It worked ok. I didn't mean for it to sound that way, so easy. Was just wondering if someone knew of a miracle product. I do soak the rubber pretty good and it takes some rubbing and like you said multiple apps to completely clean. Just a pain when the rubber smears....Thanks guys.

From the ExplorerForum owner... Pre-treat?
This stuff is great: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/produc...?T1=MEG+G12718
I use it on my race car where I get hot rubber on the quarter panels from doing burnouts. The rubber won't stick to the paint with this product on there. Comes off real easy. I would imagine that the same would hold true for bugs and other contaminants which you would pick up in normal driving conditions.2000 Ford Explorer XLT "Deuce"
