        but this thread shows a lotion type UP,


        Did the spray replace the thicker version?

            I think with the UP, you would need a couple applications for best results

              Unless the finish is badly neglected, you should be fine with one application, but it all depends on the surface.

                  If the surface is clean then any dressing you apply will bead water in the near future.

                      On black textured surfaces such as the cowl covering around the wipers, I like to coat with a non-whitening wax after the dressing sets for about a week. I have pieces on my winter driver that are still beading in March and were last done in December.
