You really DO NOT want that to happen! Don't ask me how I know.

Notice the picture below. There is a SCREW in the black cover to hold it on.
This way you can wrap your hand around the PC black cover for better control.

Also notice the small magic marker black mark that is on the backing plate.
Keep your eye on the black backing plate mark to make sure you are spinning.
      Merlin,

Having used the DA polisher for quite a few years now, and being a member of this forum for 7 and moderator for 3, I think, and I am sure and qualified enough to say you do not need the handle. And... If the plastic shroud came off on you maybe you too are holding it wrong. The bolt sticking out the side of your DA is not a good idea either and could cause more damage than good..
I have had the G100, the G110, and the G110V2.

Jefri, it sounds like you're generally doing all the right things.

How old is your machine? Perhaps it's getting a bit tired.

I agree with the previous suggestion of smaller pads. They are easier for the machine to keep spinning and generally have better correction abilities. They're just a bit slower to use on large areas because you need more passes to cover the same area.

I hope this helps - good luck!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I bought it two weeks ago, the new one. It seems that I have to prctice more with the PC since I'm a beginner here.. Anyway thanks davey g-force for the respond.

Well not sure about the other machines above but the black shroud/cover on the PC7424xp comes off of mine without the handle screwed in to hold it in place. I did not like the "feel" with the handle on the machine. The "bolt" is the exact same threads as the stock handle and actually sits recessed inside the black shroud. It's kinda hard to tell from the picture angle but the bolt is short and sits inside the ring where the stock handle screwed on.

I place my hand covering the shroud for best feel and control. Without the recessed bolt holding the shroud securely on the machine the shroud would occasionally slide right off the front of the machine. For me this was a safety issue on the PC7424xp and the simple small short bolt solved the problem.

Mine had came off to from its place too, and I have put each bolt on each side and it works. I think it solve the the black cover to slip from its place. Maybe Andy misunderstand your previous post.. and this post should clear the misunderstanding I guess
