  • First time waxer - what do you think?

Bought the Raptor a year ago and drove it from the dealer to the best body shop in town for a complete detail.

Been using UQD and UQW as recommended by detailer but it was just starting to show signs of needing new wax when I decided I needed a high mileage runaround fun car for a daily driver.

I wanted it to have the same treatment but didn't want to pay to have them both done at the same time so started browsing here. The only problem was that I had NEVER waxed a car before. I came home with some Ultimate Polish and NXT2.0 but soon realized that I had a lot of black trim and absolutely no interest in taping it all off or scrubbing off dried, white wax. Back to the store where they had just gotten in the Ultimate Liquid Wax. That's more like it! These were both done on the same day, the only difference is I used the UP on the cab of the truck.

Not bad for the very first time on a year old [12,500 miles] truck, if I say so myself. I credit it all to the Meguiar's product [and a little elbow grease].

Now my wife wants me to do her Fusion hybrid which she refuses to put in the shop [it's too far to walk] so it sits outside in farm country and looks like it. I just bought some UC and a Meg's clay kit so I'll have some questions for you all. I also spent a couple of hours in Griot's Garage superstore because I happened to be in their city today but all I came home with was a couple of their foam buffing pads I'm going to use on a random orbital sander [Festool] I use in my woodshop [the 6" pads fit perfectly on the velcro backing pad] so I'll have some questions about that too.

    Looking forward to your help!
