  • Tar Removing by Claying

Hi all, often from the Meguiar's Detail Clinic, we see Mike introduces clay to the attendees for removing above surface contaminants which include road tar. How about the tar remover product? Correct me if I'm wrong if using clay is much more efficient and faster than using tar remover product. Thanks!

Clay is OK for small spots of tar, but when there is a lot of it covering a good portion of the car, then Meguiars Body Solvent is usually better/cheaper/faster than using clay

You could also ruin the claybar and scratch your paint with a claybar most tar contains small bits of sand or gravel. It is best to remove it with a solvent them claybar and wax after. It would be just like dropping the bar...toss it out!
