Re: Applying UQW while wipe dry your car?
Asking if you "can" do something, or "will it work if?" are not the same as "What is the absolutely best possible way to apply a product for longevity?"
Of course using UQW as a drying/lubrication agent will not deliver the optimal results, but that is not to say it won't still "work" and enhance the appearance of the car and its protection in a single step, thus saving time.
Same goes for applying UQW and allowing it to haze or not, it's up to you on what matters most. For me, I know that I will not going more than 2-3 weeks TOPS between applications, so having the 100% longest possible protection isn't my primary concern.
To me personally, I prefer the application method that is the quickest and gives me the most streak-free results, which is to spray on the towel or panel, and proceed to work it completely into the paint, followed by a final pass with a dry side of the towel.
I have tested the durability as far out as 2 months ON VIDEO and still had significant water beading and sheeting from that application method. That's more than enough for me, and worth the ease of application and time saved.
Like others have suggested, automotive detailing is not always an exact science... find something that works for you and stick with it, within reason of course.
