  • Order of use?

Hi, these are the products I own :-

    Meguiars NXT Tech Wax G12718
Gold Class Bug and Tar Remover
    Clear Coat Body Scrub
    Gold Class Trim Detailer
    Scratch X
    Quik Clay Detailer
    Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
    Deep Crystal Polish
    Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax

I also own an Obital Buffer

Car is washed with Gold Class Wash

My question is which order should I use the products in to gain best results.

    Hi Jimmy...

I certainly don't think that you'll need to utilize all of those products each time that you detail. You definitely have a nice array of products in my opinion.

I would start with a good wash with your Gold Clas Shampoo and Conditioner. Follow up with the Bug and Tar remover to the areas that are most prone to this type of contamination. From there, I'd utilize the Quik Clay System followed by SCRATCH-X on the problem scratches that you have on the vehicle.

Moving towards polishing, this one is where you're going to probably need to make a few judgement calls. Base these calls on your opinion on what kind of condition the paint is in. In short, is it swirled heavily? Only moderately? Are there any other problems? Any oxidation?

Based on those answers and other observations, one could safely choose the Body Scrub, DC Paint Cleaner, or even Scratch-X. I hesitate to directly recommend a product here as I haven't assessed your paint but, keep in mind that you should use the least abrasive product first as a rule.

Beyond that and once you've dealt with your paint blemishes, move towards your last step product. NXT and/or your DC Carnauba are both excellent choices!

Let us know if you should have any other questions!

      Thanks, thats a great help.

I've read a lot of posts where people apply 2x NXT and top with #16. Could I top the NXT with Stage 3 or is there no point as both are different forms of wax?

      Thanks

It won't hurt to put DC3 over NXT. A lot of people top NXT (or other synthetic waxes) with carnauba waxes like #16 or DC3. However, I would put 2 x NXT (24 hours apart) on there and leave it that way for a couple of weeks to see if you like the "synthetic" look. Then, try topping it with a carnauba to see if you prefer the "carnauba" look better?
