just got my car back from the dealer after they had to fix something. they had sent it to a detailer to make sure it was extremely clean because they are aware of my "car craziness." when i went to detail it myself i noticed under the low-light of my garage door opener some fine scratches just in one place. you can't see them in sunlight or fluorescent light, just in the light of of the 75 watt bulb in the opener. the car only has 1200 miles on it, so i'd like to remove them the least agrressive way possible. my wife thinks i'm nuts because she can't see them. i'd appreciate all of your help and ideas.

Re: super fine scratches
Tell us a little about your car. Also will you be working by hand or in your "car craziness" have you purchased a buffer? Do you already have some supplies. Applicators, cleaners, waxes, microfibers...?
Have you started with the hand washing, clay-bar and waxed it already?
This thread is really getting long in the tooth, but it's one of many starting points. Many experts will jump on your question shortly, just stay tuned...!!

Check out this article: How to use ScratchX by hand to remove swirls, scratches and water spot etchings.
I strongly recommend that you purchase some foam applicators if you decide to remove the scratches by hand. I have found that microfiber applicators can sometimes instill scratches, especially on softer paints, if used too vigorously.Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.
