  • Just bought greatest hose nozzle

Over the years I have been trying different hose nozzles and never found one I really liked. I just ordered and received the Bon-Aire Original Ultimate Hose Nozzle (looks kinda like the older nozzles fireman used). It was a balmy 39 degrees today so I thought I would try it out on my wife's Escalade. This is hands down the best hose nozzle I ever bought. It will even do the final soak like in the Meguiar's videos. Don't know if anyone else uses one, but I love it. $19.79 through Amazon with free shipping.

Now when the tires dry I am going to try the Endurance spray I just got with my order through Meguiar's. Used the gel but thought I would give the spray a try.

I always used sheep wool mitts, but tried my new Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitt and couldn't believe how soft it was.

i bought one of these years ago....from amazon too....i like when you twist enough, you can have the water flow out gently for the final rinse, making it easier to dry.....great product

Add a brass shut-off between the hose and nozzle to take it up a notch.

That way, you close off the shut-off and keep the nozzle at the same size opening. You can still twist to adjust, but the brass shut-off is a nice touch.

By the way, I have one that is very similar and came from Harbor Freight for $6.

I've got both the original Fireman's nozzle and the Bon Aire. Didn't like either of 'em and they're collecting dust. Different strokes.

I agree with your assessment of the versatility and the both-way twist of the Bon Aire is a bonus. For my most-frequent use I need to blast under the fenderwells of a 4x4 packed with winter crud. At 60 psi coming out of the hose bib there just wasn't enough blasting action for me. I found a Green Thumb pistol-type nozzle with a flip-up instead of a trigger with a similar twist adjustment as the firehose types but it really blasts. Works for me.

        ::::Shameless plug::::

If any firehose fans are interested in either nozzle I'll peddle either or both for 50% of new plus shipping. PM or e-mail addy is on the profile, PLEASE don't respond to the thread.

We now return you to your original programming.

Nope, that may be an upgrade. WOOT had a two-pack last April for 5 bucks, IIRC. One was the run-of-the-mill twisting 8 spray positions, the other had the twist-adjustable nozzle. Both have flip-ups at the rear which are really handy for 1-thumb operation and no spraying yourself if you throw it on the ground.

I like this thing so much I looked to see where else they might be available because they don't appear to be the stoutest of materials. Found a lot of online references to the original WOOT offering on all the "deal" Web sites but never found any for sale anywhere. I'd guess once anything hits a 1-day-deal site it means they've been discontinued and fire-saled to wholesalers. I keep an eye out when wandering around hardware stores, especially some of the Mom & Pop places that are few and far between these days. Never know when someone might have some old stock.

This is about as close as anything I've found except it has the recessed front trigger vs the rear 1-thumb flipup.

I was skeptical of the price of the Bonn Aire at first. Best 20 bucks I ever spent. Like that it is rubberized and I don't break it when I drop it on the drive way.

Eggzactly! Love the adjustable tip sprayer, never used the 8-position sprayer. Free to a good home if someone wants to pay the shipping.

You aren't able to shut off water flow on the Bon-Aire with the nozzle itself? That's strange.

Yes, you are, but you are unable to keep the same spray setting. Using the shutoff allows you to vary the pressure at the same spray setting.

Hi aerogt01 - thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to buy one of these for my own personal spring detailing fest!...that is if spring ever comes.
