  • Cello tape marks

I used some Cello tape to hold a piece of plastic sheet on my hood to block water from entering through the hood scoop. Now Ive taken it off tape included. Heres the problem the cellophane tape came up easily but left its glue stuck to my very cherry paint. How to remove the glue without ruining my paint ? thanks for any input.

Goo Gone and/or a paint cleaner like SwirlX would be good places to start.

You are going to need the clay bar kit to remove the dried on tape. Since you are going to do the spot on the hood where the tape left its mark you should do the entire vehicle. When you are done go over the vehicle with something like UP to remove fine swirls and addd gloss to the paint. After that top with your favourite wax.

For sticky residue and tar spots, my go-to solution is Eucalyptus Oil. Dab some on the affected area with a clean MF cloth, leave it for a minute or so and then wipe of with a clean MF. For stubborn areas you may need to repeat the process several times.
