Re: Please help Got bad window streaks.
How much product are you using?
Sometimes cleaning windows is a mutli-step process. In the first step you have to use a few sprays on one window in order to remove all the gunk. In the second step you only want to use maybe one spray per window and if you still have streaks, try using only the damp towel. After each of these steps it is important to quickly go over the window with a dry towel in order to further prevent streaking.Tedrow's Detailing

Re: Please help Got bad window streaks.
Well, obviously we will tell you to look into a Meguiars glass cleaner....
But you may want to look at claying the glass, or even a paint cleaner if you have gotten some heavy gunk on there.
And Shawn is right, dont want to use too much glass cleaner.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: Please help Got bad window streaks.
I Have tried using Meguiars NXT glass cleaner. As well but it hasn't been able to remove the streaks I think the streaks are a build up of cheap glass cleaner. I use just a few sprays meaning 3 on the windscreen not to much. ok so i have to clay bar the windowscreen? will be a while till I can buy one its 46 dollars for a Meguiars clay kit

Re: Please help Got bad window streaks.
Try the UC and a foam or terry cloth on a side window if you can do that first.
You'll have to use a glass cleaner after, but hopefully a light spray on a cloth will be enough then.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: Please help Got bad window streaks.
As previously mentioned, using even a mild paint cleaner can easily remove a built up film of junk from your windshield, but then you still to fully remove any residue from the paint cleaner.
You can make just about any glass cleaner streak if you use it wrong. If the windshield is very dirty you will obviously need more glass cleaner to cut through the gunk, but using a lot of glass cleaner often means you end up allowing to self dry on the glass. That will lead to streaking, especially if you're still moving some dirt around.
So give this a shot: spray enough glass cleaner on the windshield to cut through what ever it is you're trying to cut through, and thoroughly wipe it with a good, clean towel. Some people swear by glass specific microfibers, others like any good microfiber towel, while still others prefer cotton terry cloth. Use what you like, but this is key: after doing your initial wiping, grab a second, clean and dry towel and go over the glass again. You're now basically buffing off the last little bit of residue that might be present. If you used a LOT of glass cleaner in the first step and that second wipe is still leaving some streaking, then spritz just a tiny bit of glass cleaner onto the windshield, wipe with a dry towel, then flip to a completely dry side of the towel for a final wipe/buff.
A lot of people like to use the trick of doing your final exterior wipe in a side to side motion, and the final interior wipe in an up and down motion. That way, if there is any streaking, you can quickly tell which side of the glass it's on by the direction of the streaks.Michael Stoops
