got a bunch of question...help needed!!

hi guyz..I just got my G110v2 today and I'm planning on doing my first full detail this saturday..
in my arsenal i've got
-UW&W
-M105
-HD
-SD
-APC+
-UC
-SwirlX
-NXT Wax2.0
-Smooth Curface Clay Kit
-UQW
-UQD
-QD Aerosol
-Hot Shine Tire Gel
-DC Polish
-GC Trim Detailer
-Water Magnet
-bunch of natural bristle brush
-bunch of Supreme Shine
-Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner
-PlastX
-bunch of foam app pad

is it enough or i'm missing something??

I was planning to :

1. Wash
UW&W , 2 bucket method , mothers lambswool washmitt

2. Clay

3. Clean
M105 with G110v2

4. Polish
DC polish

5. Wax
NXT 2.0, wait 24 hours

6. Polish
DC polish

7. Wax
NXT 2.0

do I got it right??

Everything looks fine except Step 6 - you don't need to re-polish after wax application, just eliminate it.

You may want to start your cleaning process with the least aggressive method and do a test spot with SwirlX to see if it brings your paint back to the desired level. It all depends on hardness of your paint system, current shape of your vehicle and type of defects.

Ultimate Compound is the next step up (more aggressive) product and M105 top of the line in aggressiveness.

I would also suggest to get two more products: plain car wash (without wax in it) like Gold Class Shampoo and Conditioner or Next Car Wash, and M205 Ultra Finishing Polish which is a follow up to M105 Ultra Cut Compound.
They are not necessary however but they may be helpful throughout your detailing sessions in the future.

I'm not very good with abreviations, what are SD and HD ?

Also what are you using for buffer pads on your buffer? What is your plan for the brushes?

I would think there are many opinions about that, like which wax to use.

I think the secret to a mitt is keeping it clean and using a two bucket method with grit guards.

Well, there are good wool mitts and cheap ones, just like there are good MF mitts and cheap ones.

Its not really color specific, either the mitt is good, or it is cheap and leaves marks. But black can show any little mark it makes.

A quality lambswool mitt should pose no problems at all - the good lambswool mitts are among the best tools you can use for washing a car.

@greg..sorry for the abbreviation..SD is Super Degreaser....btw, isn't UW&W is a good soap??why use plain soap??

also, i've tried using UC on MF app pad with hand bunch of times in a specific area..i won't do a thing..just eliminate really little swirl marks and water spots..there's still a LOT swirls on my car..that's why i'm planning to use M105..should i try UC with the DA or just jump to M105??

also, could anyone tell me how to use HD..is it safe on interior as well??does it works on leather??when i apply it, should i wait or a minute or agitate it with brush or just leave it be or just wipe it off immediately??

UW&W is a good soap but has some wax in it. What Greg is suggesting is to use a soap without wax in it like Gold Class car wash until you finish your detail then the wax in UW&W will help your protection from your full detail last the longest.

I would still start with a test spot and give UC a try on the DA, no need to go more aggressive than necessary by starting with M105. Then if your results aren't what you want move up to M105.

I use HD on wheel wells a lot and just spray on and let it soak in for a nice even appearance. I like to wipe parts in the engine bay with a towel for a nice even appearance and no dry/soak up time. You can certainly wipe off HD if you prefer.

I've never used HD for interiors and prefer the more matt finish of QID so not sure on that one. Probably wouldn't hurt any plastic surfaces but I would avoid electronics and nav screens.

I wouldn't use HD on leather.

btw, i've just did a test spot on my audi..with G110v2 and 3M blue and yellow pad..i don't see any differences..and i've tried it 4 or 5 times..the swirls just won't go away..is it the pad's fault or the compound??

but when i tried it on my toyota, just 2 passes and the swirl has gone..is it bcoz of the paint's hardness??

i'm confused now..

It is possible that your Audi has harder paint when compared to the Toyota.

Were the original defects still present or could you be replacing the with different marks? This would mean your paint is soft and your combo is actually too aggressive.

If you're sure that the defects aren't being replaced then I would suggest making sure your work area is in the 1' by 1' range, that you move your arms real slow (1" per second), and try working the product for a little longer during each application just don't let it dry on the surface.

I'm unfamiliar with the 3M pads, which one is for which step?

i'm sure that i'm not replacing anythiing..it looks exactly the way it was b4 i started to work on it..

i'm also unfamiliar..i got those from buying other products and got those as bonuses..i was just trying to see if it can made any differences..i used both the pad..

i'm still waiting for my softbuff to arrive..

From what I could find from a quick search on 3M pads the blue was listed as a polishing pad on Autogeek but they didn't have any yellow one by 3M. The blue one is most likely what you would want to use for defect correction.

Once you get your Meg pads yellow is for polishing and black or tan is for finishing depending on which ones you got. I'd start with a polishing pad and see how that works.

Which Meg pads did you go with (softbuff, 2.0, etc.)? Any cutting pads (burgundy)?
