Hi, I am new in detailing, can someone help?
How can I use New Car Glaze In my new car?
What is the purpose of this product?

I already have :-

GC Shampoo Condioner
Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
Deep Crystal Polish
GC Wax Liquid

Hopefully this info from Mike will clear things up a little:

What's the difference between #3, #5 and #7?

#3 is formulated to be a very wet polish for use with a rotary buffer. This allows a users to work it longer without the #3 drying or gumming-up under time, heat and pressure.

Can it still be used by Hand? Why yes of course. I have met many people who prefer to use #3 by hand, over #7. It's called, Personal Preference. You'll never know what works best for you until you try it yourself. This product doesn't actually dry, it will skin, but not dry white like a wax or like the #5 New Car Glaze.

#5 is formulated to be a very dry polish. (compared to both #3 and #7) #5 is formulated to actually dry, and this is preferred by some users, especially in high humidity, or wet climates. The name, New Car Glaze, is admittedly somewhat confusing, considering this product came out in the early 1950's for use on New Cars back then. New cars back then were getting painted with Acrylic Lacquers and later Acrylic Enamels.

#7 is the richest, heaviest oil content pure polish Meguiar's makes. #7 is one of Meguiar's most famous products among serious car enthusiast around the world. And while it may be more difficult to remove from today's modern finishes, it's pretty hard to beat the results it can achieve when properly applied and removed from a properly prepared finish. It is completely non-abrasive and offers no cleaning ability in of itself and should only be applied to new or like new paint . On a properly prepared finish, it can make the paint look wet. That's because of it's rich concentration of polishing oils.

So in other words, #5 New Car Glaze is a pure polish that will help beautify the surface after you have cleaned and polished it.

If you have the Deep Crystal Polish, you don't really need the #7.
It is easier to use than #7 too.

Hi folks,

I broswed a bit on #5 New Car Glaze and finally found this threat.

Actually I wanted to use #7 and it's allready on order but my mate from whom I'm buying says that not even 1 shop in Germany is selling #7 at the moment.
I then had a look for an other but equal product and found #5. I also read that #5 does not leave a wet gloss as #7 does, but it's better to apply.

What do you think, will I be happy with #83,#80,#5,#16 on a black car? Or do you think I should wait a bit to be more happy with #7 at the end?

Pictures of cars with #5 on them are welcome .

#5 and #7 are almost the same thing, except #5 is easier to apply and remove in humid conditions. I have only had #7 and it works everytime.

The same that M80 (cleans too), M07, M03, M81 and Deep Crystal Polish will do. Add paint richening oils to the paint to make it look glossier and wetter.

No.

All of them can except M03. It is formulated for rotary use.

Just to chime in...


Yes, all three of the pure polishes (M03, M05, M07) can be used with the DA.

Nope...it was designed with the rotary in mind and works extremely well with the rotary and a W-9006 pad at around 1000 rpm's, but it can also be used with the DA and by hand as well. In fact, many actually prefer using it by hand....

Actually, if you read the back of a M03 Machine Glaze bottle it states:

"METHOD OF APPLICATION: For use by rotary buffer only."
"For application by hand, D.A. polisher or orbital buffer, use Mirror Glaze Show Car GLaze #7."
