Hi all , i'm very new here and wanted to learn how to polish n wax my 6mth nissan sylphy , do i need to removed the assisting wax on the car body before i alppy the nxt generation tech wax 2.0, when using the
G220v2 to apply the wax how lond do i need to run the machine on the car body before i can stop ?
i also bought deep crystal system polish , do i need to use it every time before i wax my car ,how long do i ne to reapply the polish n wax after the first time i apply

Here's the detailing cycle:

1. wash
2. clay (if needed)
3. clean
4. polish
5. protect/ wax
6. maintain.

After you wash your car you need to do a surface evaluation.

If you gently touch your car's hood with the inner part of your hand and it feels rough it means that you have bonded contaminants. Claying is needed to remove them.

You also need to check for below surface defects, like water spots, etching, swirls, oxidation and scratches. Direct sunlight or florescent/ xenon light are the best spotters for those defects. Their removal requiers paint cleaners/ compounds.

For minor problems cleaner polish will provide enough power. It can remove small scratches and swirls.

Pure polishes restore gloss and moisture paint surface. They are very beneficial on dark colored cars.

Meguiar's offers all variety of car waxes. Synthetic waxes (sealants) have long lasting protection and natural waxes (carnauba) more gloss. The newest product Ultimate Wax offers both: high gloss and long lasting protection.

There are also all in one products (clean/ polish/ protect) called cleaner waxes. They offer 1-step application. Cleaner waxes are excellent choice for vehicle which are driven every day. You can still put a coat of your favorite wax on top of a cleaner wax.

Waxing your car about 3-4 times per year usually offers good protection but you could do it more often as well. Once or twice per year full detail (clean/ polish/ wax) is also a smart choice.

If you remove old wax remainings and clay your vehicle before applying a fresh wax it's gonna extend your protection period but ensuring better wax bonding to paint surface.

When you use a quick detailer to remove dust from your car and it feels like spreading and wiping it off is difficult there's a sign that a fresh wax is needed.

Do you need to? Nope. Would it hurt? Nope. But I think that would be a waste of time. As mentioned, 3-4 times a year is a good rule of thumb. But this also takes into consideration that you are going to be properly washing your vehicle. Using something like dish soap or the soap at a self serve car wash changes the picture.

A spray wax like UQW after the weekly washes will keep the car looking good, and extend the time between the full details.
