  • NXT vs Zaino

Have a question, I belong to a Jeep forum and all the owners of Black Jeeps voted Zaino their product of choice. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between Zaino and Mequiar's ??

I have been a Mequiar's user for so long I have never used anything else.

Maybe Mr. Stoops can answer this for me.

This might be an oversimplification, but NXT is made by Meguiars and Zaino is made by Zaino.

Try this....detail your Jeep with NXT. Park it next to one of your buddies who swears by Zaino and see if you can tell the difference.
        Black......the ONLY color!

I was looking for a little more product detailed comparison. You don't have to sell me on NXT or how it looks since I already use it.

From what I understand, its like Volk wheels and Rota wheels. One's a "replica" but at the end of the day, they both do the same thing. Ill probably have to put the flame suit on now because i'm sure there are some Volk owners on this forum

People have their brand loyalties and favorite products. Stick to Meguiars if you like the results, switch to Zaino if it outperforms NXT. Just remember that NXT is a wax-sealant, Zaino might be one or the other. And of course it never hurts to go to their website and read up on their product.

Allrighty! I was thinking it could be a good way to sell your buds on NXT! Chemically.....I don't know the difference. I know NXT is alot more user friendly and cheaper from what I've read anyway.

Zaino has a very distinct look and imparts an extremely mirror like reflective shine on any car you put it on, more so on black. It is also know for its durability and easily lasts over 6 months. Also it is not as hard to use as people make it seem. It just has an optional extra step that people like to make a big deal out of (ZFX). With Meguiars NXT durabilty is only 2-3 months and the looks it imparts is a deeper and warmer glow so they are some what opposites in terms of looks. Try the Zaino out to see if you like it or not. If you dont I'm sure someone on here or your jeep forums will by it.

Thank you. Might have to give it a try and see if it works, still have two full bottles of NXT if it doesnt.

                      Re: NXT vs Zaino

The only difference I can tell you is ease of availability...Megs products are way easier to get, Zaino...well a little harder to get, at least in my area.
I have friends who swear by Zaino, seen their cars, looked great...but so does my cars( i use mainly Megs products)...comes down to personal opinions and personal detailing skills??

How do you determine how long a wax "last"....3 months or 6 months??? I detail often as do my "Zaino" friends...only you can be the judge

I know guys who swear by Motul oil, some with Royal Purple oil....some with Mobil 1....all have a preference.

Some like Nike, some like Adidas...Puma...etc etc...all these shoes are made in 3rd world countries...which shoe is the best??

In the end, comes down to what you want to pay, what you believe in, and product availability?

                        Re: NXT vs Zaino

I believe the important part is prepping your car, proper washing, claying, and removal of swirls.
Meguiars gives you all the steps and knowledge to do this correctly.
If a car is prepped properly, you will get a showroom shine after waxing or applying a sealant.
You could do a car with Zaino or Meguiars and the one that was prepped the best will have the best shine.
Also there are subtle differences in sealants and waxes.if you follow NXT with a coat of M26, It will give a deeper slightly darker reflection.
Two coats of NXT will impart a more shallow highly reflective shine similiar to what you would get with Zaino.
This thens becomes a personal choice of which finish your eye finds more pleasing.
If you do a search on this site for Innovative Detailing, you will see some of the slickest ,wettest, reflections ever !!! Bar none! which shows that experience is also a factor. Thanks

Absolutely no disrespect intended at all, but your question is incredibly ambiguous and open ended, basically to the point of being impossible to answer.

It would be like asking what the difference is between Ford and Toyota - where does one even begin answering that? The answer could take years, or decades to answer.

The long and the short is that Meguiar's is a company that has been pioneering products on the cutting edge for OVER 100 years. Zaino has been making some great products, but for less than a decade I believe.

Meguiar's is the largest producer of detailing products in the consumer market in the U.S., and is a major worldwide player, where as Zaino is more of a boutique company.

Meguiar's carries many lines of products, each designed to cater to a specific end user, where as Zaino tends to essentially only serve the hardcore enthusiast.

At the end of the day, people have their opinions on what is best, and the only way to form yours is to do your own research and test the products for yourself.

I did, and I ended up here. Other may have done the same, or the opposite.

                            It's up to you

                              Re: NXT vs Zaino

It would not be fair for Mr Stoops who works for Meguiars to comment on another brand. Or it would be out come the legals .

I have tried various other brands but I find Meguiars to be the best .

As Mark Kleis has said there is to many variables on products.

The best and only way to test would be to a 50/50 on your hood.

Prep both the same and seal one side with Nxt and the other with Zaino.

I would also be tempted to do the same on you trunk but this time I would try ultimate wax on one side and Zaino on the other.

One thing I love about Meguiars products they are always trying to improve on there products which is great

Also there is a great forum called Meguiarsonline
