just say i want to use swirl x on my car. do i have to wash, swirl x , then wax or do i have to the the whole process from scratch. and what about polishing is that the same?
i cant tell if its better to use the swirl x or ultimate compound for swirls scratches and holograph swirls in the black paint.whats the difference between using the NXT or carnuba wax or cleaner wax for that step in the process?any recomendations?also i already have the quick wax, can i just use that for this stage as well as the maintenance or only use that for in between washed to maintain the shine. basically meguiars offers so many products that seem similar its confusing. i watched the videos and read the descriptions but it all seems to be preference. id love to hear from someone with a black or dark car that restored their paint to show quality and just stick with whats proven to work
What exactly are you trying to accomplish, and/or what are you really trying to avoid?
Using any paint cleaner, whether Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner, SwirlX, Ultimate Compound, M80 Speed Glaze, M83 DACP, etc will effectively remove anything that you had previously applied to the paint - polish, wax or sealant.
Let's say you had previously used DC Paint Cleaner, DC Polish and DC Carnauba Wax and now you want to try a different, perhaps more aggressive defect removing product. If you step up to Ultimate Compound you'll take off the polish and wax, and you may then want to follow with a polish and wax to replace them. At the very least, you need to reapply the wax (pure polish is always an optional step). But if you used M80 Speed Glaze you may find that there was enough polish in it that you could skip the polish step and go straight to the wax anyway. SwirlX is going to be somewhere in between these two extremes, so it really all depends on what you want to achieve.
