  • Water on Carpet

I washed my floor mats today and I noticed that the carpets underneath were soaking wet. I did my best to soak up the water by paper towels.

Since last night, I left the floor mats out and windows opened in a closed garage. Unfortunately, because of the outside temp (like -3c now), the carpets are still quite wet.

There is no electric outlet in my garage so blow drying is not an option. What should I do?

How about an extension cord? You could blow dry or s.uck it pretty dry with a wet vac.

Just have to keep airing it out... can try some towels with some weight on them.

Sounds like you have a heater core leaking

You try lots of towels (get a fresh one as soon as they are damp). Maybe something. A little more high tech like a water magnent. There is always driving with the heater set to foot vents.

I'm wondering too. How did the floor get wet exactly? Just out of the blue?

Maybe try the Sham Wow. It appears to absorb a lot of water.

                    Just snow.

I have the weather floor matte already. The snow would melt while I'm driving and the water would roll off the carpet by the sides. It would not be evaporated quickly because it's covered by the matte.

Next time when I don't try for 1-2 days, I should air it out by removing the matte.
