  • washing up liquid for dashboard.

    Hi,

i would like to know whether washing up liquid is safe to use on a car dashboard which has tiny black spots everywhere on the dashboard, i think it is vinyl or plastic urethane colour is beige, i was recommended to use M39 or D101, however both them are expensive, so i am eager to know if a similar result can be achieved using standard washing up liquid, if so it would not damage surface in any way, like adding gloss or altering look and texture of materials?, if so can you please advise dilution ratio as well.

    many thanks.

It should be ok. I don't know what dilution, just regular I imagine.

Probably want to wring the towel out pretty good, so there wont be water running everywhere.

And then use some kind of dressing after.

        I personally wouldn't.

A better product to use is an All Purpose Cleaner. You can these in all super markets, poundshops etc. Flash do a good one which is lemon. Then there's a very good one call Stardrops. Asda sell it as does B&W and some poundshops.

I have both Stardrops and the flash one in my arsenal and wouldn't be without either.

While a one time use probably wouldn't hurt anything, Blazebro's suggestion is overall a better way to go.

            Hi,

i think i incorrectly described these 'spots', they aren't really spots as such, but when i looked close , it seems that there
are black patches which look like they have been sort of ingrained in material, unless dash was made like this, which i highly doubt, it is strange however, it can only be noticed when look close.
