It happens... You'll probably find you want to do a 'good' cleaning once or twice a year, but should only need a mild product from now on.

Zobie, the results are a credit to you. Good to see a beginner doing some research and achieving such results in a relatively short period of time.

    Again, well done!

Thanks a lot. Have not logged in here for a while. But my car still looks great! However, even though I am super careful and am using all the proper techniques, I noticed there are some swirls in the paint again, nothing major, but just noticed them the other day! Time to pull out the DA again!

Pleased you got great results. You just need to maintain the finish now.

I trust you will be washing with the 2 bucket method and grit guards?

    All The Best, Rappy.

We're all just life long learners here. I just provide comic relief while those other guys provide the education.

Here's to keeping the car at it's new standard of excellence.

    No problem.

It will be easier to care for now as well. Just make sure you use the best car wash tools, etc possible, and swirls should stay to a minimum. You can wash and UQW regularly, do a little detailiing now and then. And then maybe once a year after winter you can worry about a bigger detail to remove any swirls, etc.

And only the mild products should be needed. If you needed UC often, something would obviously be wrong in your washing, etc.

Now that everything is done. Things are put away, garage is cleaned, and the car is looking better then it has ever before. It was washed after 8 months, and it probably got it's first proper car wash. To get to this point there are several people that I need to express my utmost gratitude. Most principally Michael Stoops and Murr1525, their constant advice and recommendation were priceless, along with Rapport25, sharing your personal experience was great as well. I would have never accomplished this without their help. Also to be noted are wifpd4 - finding me that backing plate was amazing for you to do that. I could have never expected someone on the other side of the country to find me a backing plate at a local store to me. If you had not found that, most likely my project would have been delaying a week, so thank you.

This really was an education, an enlightenment that will persevere with me, and one that I will use constantly throughout life. Maybe in the future I might not have time to do it myself, but my car's paint will be taken care of properly one way or another. Thank you everyone for your support and taking your time to help me with my car. When my schedule opens up a bit, I hope to pass this knowledge along to my family, and hopefully do the same to my parents cars. I will go back to my normal schedule now, but I will be sure to take care of my car every week or two, and I hope to remain an active member here.

    Once again, Thank you.

Feels good, yes, but that word really doesn't do justice to how I feel after at all. It really feels like an accomplishment, an education. It feels amazing, I have done something I never knew I could, and my car looks better then it ever has. I am so proud of myself, and has made like my car to a whole new level. Not only that, I was contemplating getting a new car off and on, and that feeling is entirely gone, and I proudly display my car. Thank you.

I put on a second coat of wax and properly cleaned the windows. I am finished. Here are some final pictures.

My Meguiar's products! My meguiar's pads and ultimate wipes are not there. I think I pretty much have all of their ultimate stuff!

And the rest of my stuff

Well, I used a new pad and switched to SwirlX and did it two more times, still the scratches and swirls did not come out. It did get a little better, but I started getting black stuff on the towels when I was wiping it off so I was worried that the paint or something was coming off, so I just stopped, used some UC and just waxed it.

I thought UC was more aggressive. Wouldn't it work better in getting it out then SwirlX?
