Normal wax vs spray wax

What are the benefits of using a spray wax such as UQW inbetween normal waxes with waxes such as Next Tech 2.0 or Ultimate Wax?

1. Is the finish better?
2. Is it used as a time saver?
3. Is it mainly to save costs?

I was thinking, since Next Tech 2.0 is so easy to apply and wipe off that using a spray wax is not really much of a time saver. So I could say apply Next Tech 2.0 every 3-4 weeks and not use an inbetween wax. Anything wrong with this?

Though if Next Tech 2.0 is used up much faster per application than UQW then maybe using UQW has a benefit in saving costs. The prices of the two are similar. Not sure how many applications you can get out of UQW vs Next Tech 2.0.

Yeah, it is mainly a time saver.

There is certainly nothing wrong with waxing the car every 3 or 4 weeks with a regular wax.

But the spray wax gives the surface a nice, fresh waxed shine, and adds some protection. So maybe you UQW every week or so, and use the proper wax every 5-6 weeks.

UQW has one advantage over most waxes/sealants. You can safely apply it to plastic trim and even windows. It's very easy to use--indeed, its ease of use can be addicting! If it's readily available in your area, by all means pick up a can and give it a try. I think you will be very pleased with this product.

However, I do not think UQW will prove to be a cost-saver. I suspect you will find that you will go through a bottle of UQW faster than you will a bottle of NXT, but I may be wrong.

I have seen up to 6 weeks of protection with 2-3 coats of UQW applied in the same day. For example, start at one section and go all the way around and immediately follow with a second application. Works great and provides durable protection.

It's rare that you find a spray wax that is a direct substitute for a proper liquid or paste wax; usually they are "booster" or "maintenance" products designed to bump up the shine and protection a small amount between proper wax applications.

That said, UQW is a bit unique due to the type of polymers contained in it - they are surprisingly durable, making UQW one of the longer lasting spray waxes on the market.

Lots of people have excellent results without ever using a spray wax, so if applying a proper liquid or paste every month works better for you, then that's the best solution for you.

I live in an apartment.
My car is parked in underground car park.
Humidity, temperature more or less the same...

I can get 6 weeks of protection (I see hydrophobic properties, the car hardly get wet when water is poured on it) from one fast coat of UQW!!

I think a quick wax is great for after a wash, in-between waxes to get that slickness back.

A good coat of NXT topped with Gold Class w/nuba maintained with Ultimate quick wax is my method of choice in between full details.

(I dont think there is a substitution for 2 good thin coats of wax but the Ultimate Quick Wax is a VERY close second.)

I use it mainly for give more shine and is very easy to use. Think about it like the spray that you use for tires but for paint. I spray it, let it dry and then remove it with a MF towel, is very easy to wipe it. I use it when I want maximum shine or if the wax life is ending and need reapply wax but I dont have time, just wash the car and spray UQW.

UQW not is for remplacing wax or liquid wax, it is like the name, it is a "quick wax" for when you feel that the car needs it. I think that UQW is more expensive than liquid or paste wax. Now for the 2011 they make the liquid and paste version of it.

I think you may have a product confused with UQW? For 2011, UQW became available in a gallon size instead of just the small bottle.

I'm trying to find the best value product as I'm in South Africa. Meguiars products cost over three times as much here than in the USA. I bought Nxt Tech 2.0 for about R400 which is around $60 whereas in USA you can get it for $18.

So I want to order in bulk from Autogeek, hence the research. If I was in USA I would try/buy everything as it is so much cheaper there.
