APC enough or degreaser needed for engine bay?

I dont want to waste my money on a product if its just overkill for my application.
I have a few vehicles to detail for my boss, the engines although they are very dirty, they dont leak oil so they arent covered in a thick coat of greasy grime like alot of older engines can be.
I have half a jug of APC left and am wondering if it would be good enough to clean them up if I diluted it to 4-1 or so (followed by a dressing/protectant seeing as most of the visible parts on new engines are rubber/plastic) Or does a degreaser make cleaning these engines that much easier that I should use it instead of my APC?

It really on how dirty the engine is. If it is absolutely covered in muck and caked on filth then a degreaser may help. Also, how clean are you trying to make the engines? Perfect or just cleaning it up a bit? If you're just doing a casual engine cleaning then I would think that APC at 4:1 (and you could use it stroonger if you wanted to) followed by some agitation would certainly clean it up.

I have used APC 4:1 to degrease tons of engines the super degreaser will make quicker work & is much better on caked up oil...... but it sounds like what you described would be fine to use APC & a brush for agitation

If the engines aren't greasy, you should be just fine without a degreaser. APC at 4:1 cleans quite a bit. Give it a go!
