  • What products needed?

Gday fellas, quick question. I am very content at the moment with using the meguiars commercial line products, but since i own a rotary buffer, in the future i might want to proceed further into detailing other peoples cars if i feel skilled enough. Obviously if i was to do that i would need to buy other products other then the consumer line products. What i want to know is from start to finish, what do i need to buy for wash, prep, polish and protect? I am talking about the proffesional line/ mirror glane line of products, thanks alot fellas.

Consumer Line products are not formulated for rotary buffers. Both professional lines - Mirror Glaze and Detailer will work.

I would recommend to take advantage of Meguiar's newest technology and go with SMAT products: M105 Ultra Cut Compound, M205 Ultra Finishing Polish (cleaner polish), D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream (all in one).

Pure polishes would be necessary as well, like M07 Show Car Glaze or M05 New Car Glaze (for high temperature, high humidity).

For protection M21 Synthetic Sealant and M26 High Tech Yellow Wax would get you covered. However Meg's newest wax, Ultimate Wax, offers the longest protection.

Professional line also has two types of clay bars: mild (stronger than consumer clay bar) and aggressive. There's the whole selection of quick detailers: M135 Synthetic Spray Detailer, D155 Last Touch Spray Detailer and M34 Final Inspection (body shop/ fresh paint safe).

Furtermore there are many exterior/ interior dressings and cleaners to choose from and car washes which offer high dilution ratios.

The biggest advantage of professional products is that they are available in variety sizes: 32oz., 64oz., 128oz. which are great for high volume detailing.

Excellent advice from Greg, as always. There are plenty of products in the Mirror Glaze line that are rotary compatible, but which to use for a given project will depend on a lot of variables - paint hardness/softness, defect severity, desired outcome, etc.
