  • Do I have to machine wash my MF towels after EVERY use?

I have a new pack of Meguiar's Supreme Shine Microfiber towels, Meguiar's wash mitt, and some other microfiber towels from Costco. Do I have to machine wash these MF towels after EVERY use (wash/wax)? I'd prefer to just rinse and wring them out. These towels should be clean anyway since I only use them to dry and wax. I'd hate to run my washing machine for just a few towels every time. Thanks!

BTW, I know how to wash the MF towels properly in the wash (no fabric softener, wash w/ only microfiber products, short cycle, etc etc).

I always do - just to be safe.

As a minimum, you may be able to get away with just rinsing your drying towels, but you need to wash your waxing towels after each use.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Just buy a lot of MF for taking the wax residue out. Then you will use a new MF after each wax until you have a lot of used MF. Then wash them in the machine. Not is recomended but I wash all he MF in one wash, Still nothing bad happend.

It depends on how lazy I am that day......

I try to just so that it is easier to wipe up future polish and wax.

I'll generally wash the ones I detail with.

I also tend to have one laying around that I might have used for a bird dropping, hard water drip, etc. That might get used, flipped to a clean side, used again a couple days later, etc, before I wash it.

Always. If I only use one or two, I hand wash. If I use more, I toss them in the machine. I have several dozens of towels and typically use a lot of them to detail a car so most often I machine wash (a front loader) with TideHE.

So you CAN hand wash? This is good news to me, I think. One or two towels (probably 2) is exactly what I plan to use. I'm not the type that goes through towels like a mad man. These things are expensive!

So how exactly do I hand wash them? Thanks again!

I let mine gather in a corner untill I have enough dirty ones to justify a wash. I do seperate them by what there intended purpose was and wash accordingly

I always feel like pulling a Lisa Douglas and chunking them and starting anew. MF's are such a pain to maintain

                    I always do.

Mainly because mine get soiled with liquids, polishes, chemicals, etc.

My towels get pretty abused and need to be washed after every use.

It's not the time. It's just that I'll literally be using only 2-3 (large) towels to dry and detail the car. Washing machines are big!

I hope you guys are referring to window towels, or drying towels or perhaps even towels you use for engine & interior dressing

Just so long as you don't tell me you do this with your wax towels then I won't have to worry aout having an H' Attack

I didn't notice, did anyone mention washing them the first time before using them? I like to tear off any tags, if there are any, and then wash them.

If you are doing just a few towels, wash and rinse them in a clean bucket and then throw them in the dryer. No need to use a washing machine.
