  • about to start my first project

about to work on my first car with the d/a

car is a honda and its black has literally millions of swirls and looks as if thou the hood has already been buffed since it looks like it has buffer trails with still millions of swirls...maybe the previous person used a too much of an aggressive method?

well i have in hand 2 bottles of UC,one swirl x,m205,and nxt wax

going to try a test spot with swirlX and see how that works out with a yellow pad on speed 5. followed by 205 on a yellow pad maybe speed 3,4?

any advice before i tackle on this car?

ill be sure to post some before n after pics as i will be doing this thursday morning

There is a chance that your paint may haze even after using M205 on the yellow polishing pad, or even M205 on a black finishing pad. I've worked on a few Hondas (black ones too) that had such delicate paint and hazed after using M205 on a black finishing at speed 2-3. The best solution for this is to follow it up with a cleaner wax such as ColorX, and the mild abrasives should help have it finish out nicely.

Looks like you are on the right course by doing a test spot. Make sure to look at it in the sun. My advice up above may not happen, but it is just a warning so you know what to do in case it does happen.

    Best of luck

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.
