This question was posed to Mike during a Thursday Open Garage night and Mike said that with the newer technologies and formulations, both products work equally well and last the same amount of time. It does come down to personal preference. He also said if it's hard to wipe the wax off, you are using way too much wax. The night I was there, he waxed an entire car with much less than 2oz of wax. It turned out to be just over 1/2 an oz. and the car was completely waxed, no missed areas. There is a post on the forums here that show the entire process and show how much wax was used. Of course, Mike doesn't mind if you use way too much wax, his 401K will benefit...LOL

Is there a possibility that the paste waxes will ever be stain proof?

Heck, there's a possibility for almost anything!! But for now at least, the ingredients that cause the paste to stain are a major part of what actually makes it a paste - take those out and you no longer have a paste wax.

IMO- I feel for most of todays modern cars with all the extra black trim added to cut down production costs and enhance the look of the vehicle, Ultimate Liquid Wax is the most revolutionary wax on the market since it wont stain your trim. Ultimate Liquid Wax is a perfect fit for todays modern vehicles.

For the perfectionist out there, taping off trim becomes a very tedious but necessary step in the detail process but when a product is produced that allows you to get professional, perfect results in half the time it now becomes a "go to product" for your vehicle for all the obvious reasons.

Now to answer your question more specifically, it DOES all comes down to preference but when having two great new ultimate products (wax/paste) you need to take the vehicle your working on into serious consideration when choosing which way to go.

The best way to chose is to evaluate how much black trim is on your vehicle. If there is an over abundance like on a Nissan Extera/Honda Element etc, liquid wax would and should be a must. If your working with a 100% painted vehicle you then can go for the preference approach.
