If all you're planning to do with the DA is apply wax, then order a few finishing pads along with it. So yes....you can use the DA to apply waxes. I prefer by hand.

The pad the comes with the unit is useless. You might want to order a 6 pack or so of pads, and just get 1 or 2oranges, whites, and blacks (lake country colors, make sure to check the colors/applications of whatever pads you choose to suite your needs) Just so maybe if you do want to learn to use the PC (et al) to actually polish with one day, you'll be prepared.

Not sure how serious you are about detailing, but I personally hate not having what I need once I decide to move on, or try something new.

Just an idea im tossing at you from my opinion.

Good luck brother, and enjoy the unit! You'll love it.

      Thanks for your reply.
Will it really do a better job than hand polishing ?
Also will it be a problem with SWIRLS for an amateur ?

It's much faster than hand polishing. Less taxing physically as well.

As long as you do your research on proper technique, and knowledge of the product of your choice, you should be fine.

There are some things that a DA just wont be able to do; however, you wouldnt be able to take care of those issues by hand either so you're not losing anything by going from hand to a DA. Keep in mind, there are still some areas on some cars you will still have to do by hand, just use common sense when that comes up.

There is a plethora of informative video's, posts and website designed to help you learn proper technique with the DA. In my opinion, you're already ordering one to apply your waxes....It can only help to learn to use it for it's true purpose.

Use the search button the top bar......You can find pretty much anything you're looking for. If you have to ask it, it's already been asked, so make that your first choice in finding specific information before creating a new post.

But be careful.....The detail bug is a SERIOUS disease, and you'd have spent a couple hundred more dollars than you ever intended to before you know it, lol.

Just relax, do your research, and most importantly HAVE FUN....good luck brother.
