  • Restoring fan shroud black plastic

I'm installing a new radiator and noticed my fan shroud is faded a bit with some coolant stains here and there..

Just wondering whats the best path to restore it back to its original black condition.

    Was thinking either -

I could spray it with plastic primer and then spray paint it satin black..

    or

use Meguires Trim detailer. Not sure if they will be able to get out the white coolant stains which a warm car wash bath couldnt remove.

    Thanks in advance!

If you decide to paint, do you have "Krylon Fusion" down there? If so, use it! The stuff is made for plastics and is self primeing.

I have used it for some exterior plastics on my truck (lower front air dam) about 3 years ago, been thru bugs, sand, salty snow...not even a ding.

Oh, it does come in satin black.
