I recently bought a 2005 Mustang--black--with great looking paint and shine . We got caught in the rain--and to my surprise--the paint dried with absolutely no water spots! What Mequires product can produce a great shine with no water spotting . I want to be careful with anything I use to maintain the finish.

Re: No water spots !
I've had good luck on my repainted truck using M21, which has kept it water spot free after half the hood got some really bad type 2 water spot etched into it after all the wax was stripped off when the clear bra was put on the front. I applied M21 after correcting the hood and haven't had a problem since. That's what I would use.

Re: No water spots !
Keep in mind how water spots are created - by the water evaporating and leaving behind whatever minerals etc that were in the water. Mobile detailers often use deionized water because there's virtually nothing to be left behind once the water evaporates, thereby greatly reducing the chances of water spotting.
On the extreme opposite side of that is sprinkler systems that use reclaimed water. We've seen such huge levels of deposits left behind by this water that it would scare the daylights out of you! There is no product on the market that will prevent that water from leaving deposits on the paint if the car is exposed to it while just sitting out in the sunshine.
While keeping a good coat of protection on the paint is always highly recommended, there are some situations where you simply can't counter the effects of the environment.Michael Stoops

Re: No water spots !
Yeah, the spots after rain are usually just dirt dried into a circle as the water evaporated, not quite as damaging as the mineral deposits mentioned above.
In the spring with all the pollen, I'll often just wash it when it rains. The pollen is gone, so nothing to dry into spots, and the rain wont leave mineral spots.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
