Re: First time using a Rotary polisher
Ive had good luck with 105/205 but there are really a lot of good options depending on what youre working on.
Ive also gotten good results using a rotary by going with a smaller/softer foam pad to tone down a little bit of the "aggressiveness" of the rotaryAdam

Re: First time using a Rotary polisher
It may be a dumb question but I have to ask. Have you ever used a DA polisher? How familiar are you with the entire process and materials?
I personally would begin with a DA, work with that for a while, then move up to a rotary. Super easy to cause dmg rather than correction with a rotary if you dont know what you're doing.
If you're going to skip the DA...please practice on a test hood, or a junk fender. They're not as easy to use as they look. My 2 cents.

Well I used DA a couple of times (not mine). Im thinking that too, go to a junker and get a part to practice. I just dont wanto to buy a $200 DA just to buy a rotary next month.
Guys what you think about Ultimate polish? I use the car wash and quik was from that line and the products are amazing.

Re: First time using a Rotary polisher
The rotary can be pretty forgiving if you use it with caution. Not as fool proof as a orbital but its possible to tone them down quite a bit. Dont stick on a 8" wool pad and spin it up to 2k rpm, thats a recipe for disaster for most folks.
My first attempts were with a rotary, I used 7" foam pads and kept the rpm in the 1100/1200 range max. Certainly not an "aggressive" approach and the correction even with 105 is certainly pretty good but not "burn off the paint" type of action like a person can get if they get carried away.
Like spud mentioned, a practice hood is a lot of fun to learn on and a worthwhile purchaseAdam

Re: First time using a Rotary polisher
nokok good. I just lookin the polishers but the 105/205 comes in big containers and are expensive. I think I will go with the medium cut then fine cut combo. The mirror glaze backing plate and the 2.0 softbuff polishing pad.
Any suggestion?
