  • Is the clear bra worth it?

Hey guys, I've owned my car for about a year now and have kept it in as pristine condition as possible. However, there are still a few chips and scratches from normal driving that bother me. I was recently thinking about touching them up and installing a clear bra, but I've heard some mixed reviews on the clear bras.

So my question is - is it worth it to touch them up and put on the clear bra, or should I just live with the chips and scratches that I accrue and maybe re-paint one day?

    Thanks!

I would reommend it for sure. I have clear rock guard on my Jeep that covers the grill, about a 1/4 of the hood and I also had it installed around my windshield frame. Invisable except on the hood where you see a small line. Better than seeing rock chips IMHO. It cost me about $500 to get what I had done. I think that would be cheaper than getting the front end painted in the future. I did the windshield from because I do wheel my Jeep and the clear protects that area quit well. I had a product put on called Avery not 3m. So far so good. Been about 6 months.

The clear bra is only worth it if you don't like rock chips. Otherwise, don't waste your money.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I got mine for $700. Entire front end and 1/4 of the way up on the hood & side views. Its worth it when you have a uni-color front end and dont want rock chips. If you look close, you can see the line of the clear bra on the hood

Absolutely 100%.....my mobile office/detailing rig a 2006 Denali......79,000 miles and not one rock chip, rock did snap the front window at about 45,000 miles. I originally installed the Avery Dennison's film, their first gen product which did well in protecting, but ultimately turned dull and yellowed a bit. My vendor/installer warrantied the film and installed the new Avery Dennison "Nano Fushion" at absolutely no charge and provided a limited lifetime warranty as well.

After the new install, the front end of my Denali got a new lease against rock chips...
