  • Scilicoin based dressing truns white?

So ive been outa the "detailing" scene for a while. Car has been parked in the university parking lot and is rinsed once a month at the local car wash thing...I dont use that brush thing though..just rinse. It hasnt been "detailed" since August...I got a REAL quick wash when I came home for thanksgiving break. I used scilicoin based dressing to dress my trim. Now, a few weeks later, my black trim looks like white chalk has been rubbed on it? any ideas???

That is weird. Which silicone dressing did you use??

I have used literally gallons and gallons of Meguiar's D160 All Season Dressing and have never had a single issue.

    Take care

    Tim

    edited for trim not tires....

I have never seen ASD do this to trim before.

Did you clean the trim prior to applying the ASD?

Oops, I had tires on the brain....

I have never had that happen with trim either. How old is the car?

I can almost guarantee you that white chalk looking stuff on your trim is wax. You probably put the ASD over it and then over time when the ASD wore off the residue was left. I have gotten wax (even liquid) on trim and rubber modlings and it dries white and is stubborn to get off.
