This term "drying aid"

What is this referring to mainly....what products are people using as "drying aids" and how are they used and for what purpose?

*I think*.... People would tend to call a MF towel of some sort your main drying tool.

Some would use a leaf blower then towel, or using a shammy then MF towel, and consider the first thing used an 'aid'.

More often, I think it would refer to using a spray wax, or spray detailer while drying. Some find it helps reduce water spotting, seems to make drying easier, etc. If there isnt too much water left, spray waxing and drying at the same time could be a time saver.

It is that last category where I see it being used...so they use a product like UQW or UQD or Last Touch and do what, spray it on while wet and then dry it all off together?

Generally it's a spray wax or the like being used while drying. While "drying aid" is a somewhat misleading term - it doesn't actually cause the drying to happen any faster - it does add some slickness to the process and a bit of gloss/protection at the same time.

UQW and Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax work great for this as they tend to be super slick and do a great job of boosting gloss. If you're going to do this, however, we would suggest doing a final sheeting rinse with the nozzle off the hose first, then spraying one panel at a time and drying as you go.

One of my favorite "drying aids" is my electric leaf blower.

I'm a firm believer that anytime you touch the finish once it's been corrected and waxed you will impart defects no matter how hard you try not too.

A leaf blower provides a concentrated stream of clean high velocity air that gently blast residual water droplets from the surface finish without actually touching it.

These can be purchased for as little as $39.00 and are worth their weight in gold.

Detail spray or spray waxes are a perfect follow-up after "blow drying"!
