  • How to wash car without hose?

I'm moving to a new complex this weekend and it seems like I won't be able to use a hose to wash and rinse down my car. What is the safest/easiest way to wash? I wash every 2 weeks with Nxt gen wash so need a simple routine. I heard some people use watering cans etc.. I don't want to use a car wash.

If your car doesn't have excess dirt/debris caked on, you can pull it off. Keep in mind, dirt/debris will accumulate on the lower extremities of your car, especially to the rear (of the contact patch) of both the front and rear tires.

You will need two five gallon buckets. If a hose will not be involved, a third bucket will come in handy for rinsing. One bucket is to be used as a fresh suds bucket, one bucket is to be used to rinse the grit off of the wash media, and the third bucket will be used to rinse the vehicle.

There are also waterless wash products on the market, such as DP or ONR

You can always do a qd on a daily basis. Or go with the onr option. It is just going to be more time consuming to keep your ride clean. Good luck.

ONR- Optimum No-Rinse is great stuff. Based on recommendations from the AutoGeek forum, I've been using it for a few months, now that it's gotten colder outside. In addition to its cleaning ability, it actually seems to repel dirt, so I can go a bit longer between washes. Some pro mobile detailers use it as their regular wash step. If you get your car really dirty, you can always blow off the heavy stuff at a coin-op, then drive it home wet and finish with ONR.

Car duster, quick detailer and bunch of microfiber towels should be enough as long as your vehicle is not super dirty:

ONR. If there is quite a bit of dirt, go to the coin-op just to spray all of the excess dirt off, then use ONR.

Here is the technique that I use when there is no water access or no hose bib, waste water restrictions or on site wash limitations due do property management. The great thing about this unit is no more conventional trigger or pump sprayers, which amount to less failure and hand/knuckle fatigue....which is a good thing

This unit takes up very little space and it fit nicely in the back of the Mazda 3. It's practical, it is collapsible and all I do is just plug the unit into my 12V accessories plug, and shine away!......completely 100% self contained!

Before my rinseless process using the DetailingCaddy

After my rinseless process, absolutely "Zero" waste water runoff and an extremely brilliant vehicle in no time at all, anywhere

I'm ordering a whole bunch of Meguiars products to keep me going for the next year or so.

1.Would UQD be ok to use if I use it once a week to clean the car? Or is plain QD better for cleaning? I wont be able to wash the car very often. Maybe every second month or so.

                2. Does UQW give a better finish than UQD? I'd rather stock up on more UQD if the UQW is similar, as the UQD can be used to clean as well?

                3. Which is the better product for protecting the interior? Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer or Meguiars NXT Generation Cockpit Shine?

                4. For glass, is Meguiars NXT Generation Glass Cleaner any good?

I want to start a weekly routine. I use Nxt Gen Wash to wash but won't be able to do that much. I've used Nxt Tech Wax 2.0 and it is amazing so will stock up on that and apply every 3 months or so. Just need some advice for the weekly detail.
