Rubbing Compound - Can use with machine buffer?

Hi,

My car was badly vandalized, long deep scratches and i used rubbing compound with just a terry cloth and my hands!

hands are shaking quite badly now, really did used a lot of effort

and im wondering if i can use the rubbing compound with a buffer machine used for polishing cars?

will it help?

Also, is it necessary to use with a polishing compound?

NO. Do not use the Runbbing Compound with a machine. It was not designed for machine use and it will not play well. You won't be happy with it if used with a machine. In fact, Michael Stoops said this himself.

If you are going to use something by machine, use Ultimate Compound, Swirlx, or Scratchx. But, these are to be used with Dual Action polishers such as the Meguiars G110v2, Porter Cable 7424XP, etc.

If you are going to use a rotary polisher then you need to get some items from the Mirror Glaze line.

but anyway, the lines are still pretty much visible in the day.

hope the vandalizer end up in hell!



Can i use the rubbing compound daily? will it help?

There shouldn't be a need to use Rubbing Compound daily. If you spend a good amount of time rubbing out the scratch then you may be able to lessen it's appearance. Try working the Rubbing Compound using a cotton terry cloth towel/applicator. This will give the product more bite and remove more of the scratch.

Try and find something less aggressive to follow up the Rubbing Compound though. See if you can find Meguiars Polishing Compound as that as designed to follow Rubbing Comopund. Try and use the Polishing Compound or the less aggressive product with a foam applicator as it will finish out much nicer and leave a glossier finish.
