first time?

hey all, im new to the forum and also to auto detailing. i have waxed before but thats all and noother detailing experience. My dad has a 02 Silverado but i take care of it, like if it were mine. Well i wanted to know if anyone has any tips on getting started detailing. The paint is still good and has some swirls and other normal stuff a daily driver gets.
So how do i start? what should i use to keep it shining

Do you want to do all of your work by hand? or by machine with tool like the G100 Dual Action Polisher?

What kind of products do you have in your arsenal to start with?

I want to do the work by hand first then i'd like to use a polisher (plus if my dad sees me doing it he might let me borrow the truck more often)


So far i have no products but i just got a new Meguiars catalog and plan on purchasing some and/or a collection thats why i wanted to know of what products are good to use and how to use them. for example i want to know more about clay bars, polishes, and waxes.
