  • Show Car Glaze#7

    Hello,
What is the show car glaze#7? Is that a polish/cleaner or sealent product.

What is the best approach to use it and when? For example, can I use it after wash the car and prior to use Next Gen Tech wax 2.0.

Other question I had: If I'm washing my car every 2 weeks can I add a coat of the Next Tech wax 2.0 for protecation and keep the depth and shine. Please advice.

    Thanks
    Moheb

#7 is a pure polish. I would use this before applying your favorite wax or sealant.

As Mr Clean said, #7 is a pure polish. It has no abrasive action. It contains all of the oils that your paint will need to stay healthy and hydrated.
The best time for use is prior to waxing. Once the surface of your vehicle is cleaned, clayed, and buffed (if you are doing this step), the glaze goes on right before the wax.
As far as NXT goes, I would personally put it on before a carnuba based wax if depth is what you are looking for. However, if you have a lighter colored vehicle, it probably will not make a noticeable difference either way.

Ok, that is great information. Now, I would like to ask this :
1- If no. 7 is pure polish and has no abrasive that is mean can I use it frequently says once every 2 or 1 month.
2- Waht is the different between Glaze no. 7, deep crystal system polish, and speed Glaze no. 80.

What I would like to get out of asking these questions are:
1- after clay bar and use either crystal polish or M 80 can use Glaze #7 and top it by wax or selaent or Next Tech Wax 2.0.

2- every other week wash can use only Glaze 7 or Next Tech Wax 2.0 to maintain deepth and clarity.

        Thanks

          Moheb
M80 is a Cleaner/Polish, which means it has some cutting power for defects removal and also has polishing oils.

M07 and DC are pure polishes and as stated before, both will not remove any defects or paint. I'm not sure about the difference between these two products but I think because m07 comes from professional line it is body shop safe and DC as a consumer product is not. Let's wait for the experts posts.

I have M80 and from my understanding M80 covers both steps cleaning and polishing. Really don't know if M80 followed by M07 will produce any noticeable difference. I have the same doubt.

There are many threads here discussing about M07 on brand new cars. I suggest you to quick search and read if this is your case.

Regarding to your last question, I'm sure you can apply both products after every wash but NXT 2.0 is supposed to last longer than two or three weeks. Maybe you can apply a spray wax to boost existent coat wax after washing.

              Re: Show Car Glaze#7

As has been stated, M07 is a pure polish - essentially a gloss enhancer - that provides no cleaning ability and offers no protection. You must apply a coat of wax after applying M07. Deep Crystal Polish is basically the consumer version of M07. Because these products do not contain any abrasive material you can use them as often as you like.

Because M07 contains no cleaners it won't remove any defects, although it may do a pretty good job of hiding some. M80, on the other hand, is a very effective cleaner/polish that can indeed remove some light defects. It also contains a lot of the polishing oils found in M07 so using both may be a bit of a duplication of processes. We always consider the use of a pure polish like M07 to be an optional step, not a required step. If you're going to use it, remember to apply it lightly in a small area and wipe off the excess before it dries.

After washing and drying the car you should evaluate the finish to see if it needs any further treatment. If it feels rough to the touch, then clay it. If it's perfectly smooth then claying won't do anything. If you see fine swirls, scratches, etchings and other below surface defects then use a paint cleaner like SwirlX or Ultimate Compound, or a cleaner/polish like M80 or M83 to remove those defects as needed. If you don't see any of this type of defect then there is probably no need for a paint cleaner.

Again, a pure polish like Deep Crystal Polish or M07 is an optional step at this point, but waxing is a must. NXT 2.0 is an excellent wax to use over M07, over M83, or just on nice clean paint.

Have a look at the 5 Step Paint Care Cycle for a more in depth run down of the entire process.
