I agree... Moisturizing is probably a good idea once in a while, but needs cleaned off well after.

thing is, will QID clean OFF M40 or will it only add to it, it almost seems id have to APC the seat and THEN apply QID but im not sure.

QID has mild cleaners that will remove any buildup on the surface of M40. M40 is not like UP where it bonds to the finish so any extra M40 can be removed much easier.

I would try M40 and then let it sit overnight outside and then wipe off all excess very slowly with a white terry cloth.

I have a feeling the QID will smear around the freshly applied M40.

well i applied M40 yesterday morning and its been on ever since. I think what ill do is use APC+ to remove the M40 before i ride, then after APCing the seat ill apply QID. That should work ok shouldnt it?

I am getting confused. If you already cleaned the seat with apc, then applied #40. Why not just wipe off the excess of 340 and see if it going to be too slick to ride. If it is okay, then you saved yourself a few steps. If it is too slick after the wipe down. Then proceed with your plan.

A properly applied and wiped off coat of M40 shouldn't be leaving behind so much product that the surface becomes really slippery. Besides, once you start pushing that sled a bit you'll want to be able easily shift your body weight from side to side.

Our call center receives two kinds of calls from motorcycle riders looking for something to use on their saddles - Harley riders who want nothing slippery in the least, and sport bike riders who want a bit of slip so they can slide back and forth and drag the appropriate knee during canyon runs.

But seriously, M40 properly wiped off won't leave a really slippery surface.
