  • Question About Cleaner Wax and Dual Action Polisher

In all the the many different types of 3-step wax systems (I have Meguiars Cleaner Wax and another brands Pre-Wax Paint Cleaner), when going about using this system with the Meguiars DA Polisher, what pad do I use with the cleaner wax? What speed? Pressure or no pressure? Normally I just clay bar customers cars which I think is a better alternative than cleaner waxes, but I have a packaged deal where I do the 3-step wax system. I know how to apply the polish and wax and what pads and speeds to use for those, but any insight on the 1st step? Thanks in advance

Cleaner/Waxes can be applied with W8207 polishing pads (yellow) or W9207 finishing pads (black). You can use them around speeds 3-4 and moderate pressure.

Re: Question About Cleaner Wax and Dual Action Polisher

Clay bar removes above surface contaminants, which your car soap is not strong enough to successfully deal with. Cleaners address below surface problems (in paint).

Cleaner wax is a good choice for daily drivers. You can correct several problems in just one step. Light scratches, oxidation, swirls can all be removed or improved with those products.

      You can choose:
      - synthetic cleaner wax (M6 Cleaner Wax, M20 Polymer Sealant),
      - natural cleaner wax (A12 Cleaner Wax, ColorX),
      - hybrid cleaner wax, natural/ synthetic mix (D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream,
      M66 Quick Detailer).

Yellow polishing pad will offer you maximum correction ability and black finishing pad maximum shine.
