    Re: Paint Issue

Thanks a lot for all your help to determine what my problem is and how to tackle it. I will polish and wax the car this weekend.

My next question is what should be my future steps to slow down cc failure? I am ordering a good carcover (Noah) so I can protect my paint from the elements. Should I keep washing the car frequently (every week or two) and then polishing and waxing (perhaps once every 2 months)?

Thanks again for all the help!

If clear coat failure has started it is not reversible. The only way to fix it is to re-spray the paint coat.

Clay is good. Clay is your friend. The reason why clay is ok is because it is completely non abrasive. It only removes anything sitting on top of your paint. Claying actually allows wax to adhere better which allows for better and longer lasting wax protection.

Sorry for the bad news. Just clay and wax it. That is about all you can do at this point.

Clay, polish, and wax or just clay and wax?

Yes, unfortunately that does indeed appear to be clear coat failure. Nothing you do is going to reverse it or correct it, but you aren't really going to make it much worse either. In fact, with it being at such an early stage you may find that clay, polish and wax makes it look pretty darn good - unfortunately that will only be very temporary.
