  • Heres an "off the wall" post!!

ok guys, so, i ended up buying a snowmobile today, def a clean snowmobile and very well taken care of, my question is, what products can i use on it and does anyone know if the paint on these is SS or BC/CC? Im not looking to FULLY detail it, but id like to clean it up as much as i can for myself before i start riding it. Heres a picture of it!

    Cool buy.

Take a piece of terry cloth, some cleaner wax and work it into the finish. If the cloth changes color you have SS and if not then BC/CC.

Yeah, and you need to do something about those trailer wheels.
          Nice sled.

no one, no ideas on what products to use on this, what about for the seat, what can i use on the seat that wont make it slippery as heck. Its not cracked now and id like to try and condition/protect it to keep it from cracking if i can.

It'll take 20 seconds for you to find out for yourself if it is SS. Instead of having people guess, I'd take the time to figure it out myself then go from there.

As far as the seat goes, you could work in a heavy coat or two of M40. After letting it soak up as much as it can, wipe it down with a damp cloth.

What year is it and what's the track length? I'm guessing this is a trail machine and not a mountain/powder sled.

def not a mountain/powder sled, its a 96 Polaris Indy Trail with a 121" track and 798X miles, one owner, mint condition, meticulously cared for and maintained.

It looks really good for a '96!! My sergeant is selling her 2004 Arctic Cat with less than 1,000 miles. I wish I had the money! I want a sled really badly. A lot of the people I know here ride. Thankfully I have a co-worker that has two extra sleds he lends out so I can get my fix. One of these days...

yeah i hear ya, i started cleaning it up yesterday but i only got as far as wiping it down with UQD. The sled isnt dirty at all just dusty so i didnt opt for a wash.
