Has anyone used Goof Off for tar remover? I have a few spots on the cars paint and inside on the factory coated rims. Was wondering if this will damage any of the clear coat or coating on the rims. The bottle states use for tar remover on painted surfaces......... but does that mean clear coat? Thanks in advance!

Turpentine works well on some tree sap, especially evergreen types. Same precautions apply.
You will need to re-wax the area you used the kero/turps on. Maybe even some light polishing if you mar the surface some.
This help?

Some tape 'leftovers' can be removed using peanut butter. Yea, really. It's the oil that does it, not the peanuts. Even try cooking oil.
You CAN try something like Goof-Off...just be gentle some paint really react to a 'hot' product.
All I'm trying to say thru all my babble is, use the most gentle product first then gradually move up.
Completely off topic: Wife and I were talking last night and the subject came up about winter 'Down Under', you get snow much in Australia? Or just winter cold?

Peanut butter? You waiting for me to reply with "i tried it and it didn't work" so you can reply with "PUNK'D!!" ?!?! haha
As for winter 'down under' it depends where you are. Certain places snow depending on the geographical topography and climatic characteristics etc. It doesn't snow in Sydney, it does snow in the Blue Mountains 1hr inland (west) of Sydney, and it does snow around Canberra 3 hrs south of Sydney. Thinking of heading for a visit?

Re: Goof Off
I wasn't kidding about the peanut butter trick. Does pretty good job of loosening up dried wax on bumpy plastic surfaces. You need to wash the affected area(s) afterwards (gotta get the oil off).
Thanx for the 'snow info'. It was just one of those questions that pops in your head once in a while. I have always to 'come down' for a visit. we have a few friends that have and have nothing but good to say about Australia. Now if wasn't for that 14 hour flight...I really don't like to fly anymore...LOL.
