Much of the Asian market is subject to extreme levels of acid rain and other pollutants that we don't have in the West. It's is also a cultural rarity that owners of higher end vehicles will ever do any detailing on their own, rather they take their vehicles to a detail center where the work is done for them. This is especially true in Hong Kong and China. This type of product is very popular in these markets, especially among higher end vehicle clientele, and we are simply addressing that market. The product is not going to be sold as a stand alone product, but rather as the final step in a multi step detailing process that corrects all paint defects and then this coating is applied to protect against the elements. Overall gloss is not the prime objective here - long lasting, tough protection is.
Our research has been in depth enough that even the product part number has cultural significance in China, as does the product name itself.

There is something very important to keep in mind regarding M101 - it is designed specifically for use on fresh paint only, not factory applied and cured paint. And the aftermarket paints used in Europe are quite a bit different from those used in the US due to various regulatory concerns, etc. As you probably know, aftermarket paint is vastly different than factory paint due to the way factory paint is baked and cured. And even the construction of the foam pads for this use is unique to Europe.
Our very own Jason Rose has had the very good fortune to travel all over the word, working with body shops and detailers from Norway to Germany to Turkey, and from China to Hong Kong to South Korea to Malaysia. There are, as has been said, some pretty unique cultural differences in the automotive surface care industry, including the types of products used, and the techniques used with them.

And the foam pads tend to be very thick. Backing plates are very different too. So, we developed a specialized liquid to work with the type of pad and the type of paint that is so common to that part of the world.

I talked to one of the representative of my local detail shop about this system. He said, they had a demo of this system, and many of the detailers can't believe on how good the results are with microfiber technologies.

Guys, we already have great polishes available in the form of M105/M205, and the plethora of other great polishes, from Meguiar's and other makers, too.
So let's concentrate on the stuff we'll be getting *here*, in the U.S of A.
105/205 re-wrote the book on the amount of correction (and even finishing polishing, really) that a PC could do, while also re-writing the book on the finish an aggressive compound could leave. Now what if they still have their book writing pen handy... Imagine using 105/205 with *pads* that took the 105/205 combo to the next level? Those pads look like the authors at Meguiar's are still kicking out the chapters... Can't wait to read 'em.
Looks like the Meg's gents/ladies have been listening, too; love the three sizes to choose from. Man, do I wish I had a key to that show case...

I think there could still be a market for M101 here in the states; lots of people here deal with Euro cars, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that prefers sticking to cutting foam pads instead of using wool due to how much better they finish out.
