LOL i meant the way the DA applies swirlx, meaning, you apply it quicker and not as thick as it spreads its out more even, thus allowing for easier removal by hand ofcourse

      Why not just use M205?

        Re: Just tried SwirlX...

Instead of recommending alternative products for this gentleman, I suggest it's more important to figure out why he found SwirlX to be difficult to work with. Many people have used SwirlX without experiencing these kinds of problems. I know I haven't. In the large majority of these cases, it's simply user inexperience with an unfamiliar product that is causing the problems. That's why it's so important to do a test spot first. It allows one time to figure out a product and refine technique before wasting time and energy polishing out the entire vehicle.

The first question that comes to mind is, what size was the work space? If a person is finding it difficult to remove, then I'm betting is that the product has started to dry on the surface. Solution: shrink the work area, say to 15"x15". Apply a quarter-size dollop of SwirlX to a foam applicator and work the area for 30 seconds to a minute. Remove with a microfiber towel. Inspect the paint. Once you have zoned in on a technique that works for you, then you can begin to polish the entire vehicle.

SwirlX is not one of my favorite polishes. I personally do not like its thick toothpaste-like consistency. But it should not be a difficult product to remove if properly used. It just takes time and patience to figure out the product. This, of course, is true for every detailing product.
Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

          Re: Just tried SwirlX...

I recently used SwirlX for the first time and applied it by hand. The product was thicker than liquid wax/polish but not as thick as toothpaste. I found it to be fairly easy to use and it did a nice job, a DA would defiantly work better/easier for doing the entire car, but by hand wasn't too terrible for me. It removed the majority of swirls, a second application would probably have done a better job on the other minor defects... overall for me the product worked well and I am pleased with the results.

I too tried SwirlX but with a DA polisher and orange LC pad.

Its a bit thick though but with it after 2 passes on the whole panel I was able to completely take out the swirls and removal was also not a problem.

(Try misting the polish/swirlX residue with IPA(50/50 in water) and then wipe with a MF towel. Works great for me!)

              Re: Just tried SwirlX...

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the suggestions. Megs is coming out with a new polish next year, UP, im sure my scratchX will be sufficient enough until then.

I really wanted to like swirlX, but after the bad experience i had with it, i lost interest. Same thing happened with a clay bar kit i used from another well known company, which name started with an M also. I couldnt get it to work properly, left many stains. I returned it, bought Megs clay kit, used the exact same method to apply, and it worked beautifully.
