Yesterday a friend opened the door and he hit a pool, and it made a deep scratch on the car door. I dont think I can buff it out because it is deep. How much would it cost for them to fix it? It's about 1.5 to 2 inches long. I called one place and they said 250 dollar. Is that too much?

It depends heavily both on material costs, quality of paint the shop is using, and the time it will take to prep the surface (assuming door). being as it is a visible area I would bet they would do some blending and paint a larger section than just the scratch, which could be the whole door unless you asked for a chip/scratch repair.Comment

Well i went to the shop and asked. They wet sand it and buff it out but you can still see it. I think they said they have to repaint whole door. I'm also getting a dent fixed there costing about 550 dollars and they said the painting the door for about 250. Total is 800 dollars.Comment
