  • What's the Difference?

Just got a new truck and I want to get started right with the vinyl and rubber trim areas. The Cleaner/Wax bottle warns to "Keep off rubber and non-painted surfaces"...I assume to avoid "graying" the part over time.

I see Gold Class Trim Detailer (G10810) and Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner #40. How are these two products different and when do you use each one?

    Thanks!

If I recall correctly, Gold class is the OTC version and #40 is the professional version.

GC Trim detailer is specifically for trim and moldings, it is a thicker more concentrated product which IMO last longer that #40

#40 is more for Tires, Wheel Wells, Dashboards, door panels... large areas that would not utilize the GC Trim Detailer. #40 works ok on the trim, just a more neutral look to it..

On a vehicle that has heavy wax buildup on the trim or moldings I would pre clean with #39 first to strip away the old wax, then apply the GC Trim Detailer...

Both are different products that are excellent to have in your detailing arsenal...

The Trim Detailer I think will be a little greasier, not as nice for inside.

And the #40 has more cleaning ability I think.
