Is it possible to polish windscreen?

Well i just noticed there are two tiny (less than 1mm in diameter, <0.1mm deep) defects on my front windscreen, possibly caused by sand blast or some really tough bugs on the highway.

Is it possible to polish the windscreen and fix it? i really don't want to put a brick through and call the insurance...

Meguiar's does not make anything specifically for this, no. But there are glass polishing kits on the market that use cerium oxide as the abrasive, but the process is a bit specialized and not without pitfalls. It is easy to generate a lot of heat doing this, and that heat can warp or even break the glass. Still, when done properly many have reported excellent results with a variety of defects.

Thanks mate! Already called my local dealer and they say they'll give it a shot.. (fingers crossed..)
i really wish i'm at home where many reliable pros handle the job beautifully for me. Not some young guys saying ' yeah..right.. why not？i'll give it a shot..'
