  • Applying RainX Washer fluid to windows

Has anyone ever applied RainX window washer fluid to their windows?
If yes, how long should it stay on the window before removing it with a MF or paper towel?

If it's the pink washer fluid in a gallon jug, just add it to your washer reservoir and use it like regular washer fluid.

If it's the RainX treatment then it has to be applied to a clean windshield. I wash, then clay the wind shield. If there are still contaminants on the glass I'll polish with Megs #4. Then clean the whole windshield with rubbing alcohol and a microfiber. Now apply the RainX in a thin even coat, let dry to a haze, buff off the haze with a clean microfiber and you're done. Repeat every 6 months.

The RainX I'm talking about is the one in the 4L jug, I have it in my reservoir already. I was thinking of cleaning my windows and then apply that to the windows surface.

A long time ago I got a gallon of that stuff (It's pink, right?) for really cheap. I used it in a spray bottle to clean the windows with.

It worked fairly well, and I didn't treat it any differently than a traditional window cleaner, aside from the fact I used it on the outside only.

The liquid inside the jug I have is green, its RainX DeIcer.

That is more of a 'booster' for the Rain-X treatment. If it's already in your wiper reservoir, just use it like that. You can use it just like window cleaner on your other windows as well, but it doesn't clean nearly as well as Meg's glass cleaners.

If you just want the de-icing abilities, just spray and wipe. I would clean the glass with Meg's first.

If you want the RainX to shed water. Clean the glass as I described above, apply original RainX, then use the de-icer as a maintenance product to keep shedding water.

I've used the de-icer, bug & tar and the regular 'add to the reservoir' RainX, they all work better with an application of the Original done first.
