  • NXT Glass Cleaner a must-have?

Hi guys. Was curious to know if NXT glass cleaner is a must-buy? If yes, then what is the right way to apply it? Coz I tried to find some videos but was unsuccessful. And would it be safe to use it on Tinted glass? Please advice

I can't say if it is a must have. A lot of us here line the d-line glass cleaner.

As for being safe for tinted glass. I would say it is.

Try a slightly damp, followed by dry, microfiber towel and you will not need any glass cleaner. That said, if there is coke and hamburger spatters, then you might need a glass cleaner. Weekly cleaning of road film and vinyl decay gases that has settled on your interior windows can be removed, streak free, with a dry microfiber.

NXT Glass Cleaner works very well. I spray the window lightly, wipe with MF towel. However, I have recently discovered the D120 Glass Cleaner in the Detailer line and prefer it!! Since it is a concentrate that you mix in a 10:1 ratio....it's very economical to use and I like the results better.

Another for the D-line glass cleaner. Best I have ever used.

If there is any glass cleaner that I'd consider a must-have it is this one.

Thats nice info guys! But is there a particular way to apply glass cleaners? Are there any Do's and Dont's?

Re: NXT Glass Cleaner a must-have?

I tend to do my glass after washing the car, so already fairly clean. If not washed, then you would add an 'initial cleaning' to get the heavy dirt off.

Then I just use a MF towel, and spray a little on the towel and wipe around. Think like one spray for side windows, or half the front/back. Dont want to use too much. Then just flip to the dry side of the towel for a final wipe.

If you are having trouble, claying the glass can also be good.

In accessories section, I have ordered for a MF wash mitt and MF towels. What else should I get? And would I be getting an applicator pad with my NXT 2.0 wax?

Re: NXT Glass Cleaner a must-have?

After washing the car, it's pretty clean so I don't have to use a glass cleaner on the exterior glass as I'll just use a QD or spray wax just like I would on the rest of the car. For the inside of my tinted windows, I LOVE using the nxt glass cleaner. One of my favorite products from Megs without a doubt.

I have a decent supply of Stoner's Invisible Glass and Meg's Quik Glass cleaner but when it runs out I will get some D-line Glass Cleaner Concentrate. I beleive I will mix 1:1 ratio as some cars I have seen with using that really showed improvement.

Regardless of what glass cleaner you use here is a little tip.

When doing your cleaning the exterior glass, always use vertical swipes.

On the interior, use horizontal swipes. This way on the odd chance that their is a streak. You will know instantly if it is inside or outside. Saves time, and you will not run around like a chicken with its head cut off. lol.

I've always been a fan of aerosol glass cleaners (like Invisible Glass)... not really sure why. I just like them.

But, the invention of the microfiber towel is the greatest thing in detailing since they discovered carnauba wax. I hardly ever have to use a cleaner on windows anymore (on inside windshields, that's especially fantastic). I like using distilled water in a spray bottle. Spritz a little on one side of yer towel and go to town!

One more vote for Meguiars D line glass cleaner; that stuff smells good enough to drink too. My other tip for the D line glass cleaner, get two of the spray bottles. The stuff works so well and is so economical to buy, you will want one for the garage and one for inside to use around the house. This is one Meguiars product my wife uses all the time and I got tired of trying to keep up with where she was hidning my bottle!

I am also a fan of the Stoner Reach and Clean tool for doing the insides of the front and rear windows.

So I think it is better If I go for D line cleaner then. By the way, what does it smell like? Coz I have been hearing lots of good things about this one..

                              Smells like grape juice.
